About the farm
Bevšek Tourist farm is located at the entrance in picturesque valley Robanov kot in the Solčava tourist area. This area was awarded with EDEN prestige award for the most successful areas with sustainable development by European commission. Awarded area includes Logar Valley, known as one of the most beautiful Alpine valley. Flat bottom of the valley is surrounded with high mountains of Kamnik – Savinja Alps, which are the most eastern part of European Alps. The whole farm is declared a cultural monument and is, as such, unique. Buildings are dated in early 19th century, however, the estate is significantly older – it has already been mentioned in medieval records. Amongst most interesting buildings on site are definitely still working smithy, sawmill “venecianka”, and in 2011 restored mill with water-powered wheel and original stones which has first been working in 1887. Along the road there is one of the oldest plague monuments in the memory of difficult times when the disease was spreading. On the outbuilding and farmer’s retirement house you can see restored frescos with religious motives, work of Italian artists who lived on the farm whilst painting in Solčava church.
We offer you accommodations, bed and breakfast, and half board. Guests stay in the refurbished farmer’s retirement house by the main building, where six rooms with bathrooms, TV and internet are available. In the main building there are living room, dining room and kitchen. The gourmet delights are even more exciting in beautifully renewed dining room from 1880, and the additional charm is provided by the tiled oven.
Choice of food is rich with outstanding items such as zgornje-savinjski želodec, salami, butter, cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese and curd dumplings, žlikrofi, apple and cheese pies, and bread. Food is organic and homemade. Location of the farm is a great starting point for hiking trips and climbing on the surrounding hills, jogging and biking. It is located near the Savinja River which is great if you wish to go fishing in this area.
