Already a quick glance at the valley will reveal to the traveler that this is a wine producing region. The Vipava wine road goes across the Vipava valley and past the Birsa farm, a farm with a long winemaking tradition.

However, the farm is not only known for its excellent wines, but the Birsas are also known as friendly hosts who like to treat their guests to delicious, home cooked dishes, among which various meat dishes (roast suckling pig and lamb, different roasts, sausages, cured meat) are most sought after. Of course, there are also plenty of gnocchi, jota, vegetable stews and much more. Those of you who have a sweet tooth will love their delicious kremne rezine (custard slices), strudel, štruklji...

A visit to the farm will become a special experience if you combine it with wine tasting in the company of your host Oskar, who tends to his vineyard all year round with great care and attention.

The Birsa farm, which offers accommodation in lovely rooms or apartments, is a great starting point for exploring the surroundings of Vipava.
