There is a proverb that says: You are what you eat!

This old saying also sums up our contemporary understanding and the revelation of everything we call gastronomy. We must eat in order to live, but we don't live just so that we can only eat! That is why getting to know local food and drink can reveal and mean a lot more to us. It helps us to discover house, local and regional cultural features and differences; through food we get to know people's traditions and habits, different forms of their everyday efforts, harmony with nature, stories that reveal more or less distant roots of historical development, human destinies, connections or differences. We can thus taste different flavours and literally smell forests, fields, meadows and everything that people grow and set on the everyday or festive table as food.
