The coast and the Karst

The Škerlj Tourist Farm, which has the characteristic enclosed courtyard of the karst region, stands in Tomaj in the shelter of Tabor Hill. From here the view extends across Kras and its vineyards.

Guests can become acquainted with dried meat specialties cured in the karst bora wind and taste the karst region’s unique Teran wine. The farm has a rich offer including an outdoor swimming pool and a sauna.

You can rent bicycles on the farm and ride on almost twenty kilometers of easy bicycle trails to the Škocjan Caves, Lipica, Vilenica Cave, the world famous war museum in Lokve, and the interesting karst village of Štanjel. In the village itself stands the memorial house of the Slovene poet Srečko Kosovel and the 16th-century Church of Mary still roofed with stone slates.
